It is difficult for parents to differentiate “recreational” pot smoking and occasional drinking from substance abuse, dependence and addiction. We know you are challenged by a culture that in many ways condones the use of drugs and alcohol. When you confront your child or try to set boundaries, they say, “You are crazy, “ and that they are fine or, “Everyone smokes weed.” We can help you and your child understand the difference and suggest appropriate levels of intervention and treatment.
We have first-hand experience with adolescent and young adult substance abuse and understand the language of boundaries, as well as the language of co-dependence. We will be there with you to help figure it out and support the process of getting your child help.
