Medical-level Assessment & Treatment
Emergency rooms and acute care hospitals are purely meant to stabilize in a crisis and are driven by insurance. A Medical-level Assessment Center can be necessary for those in need of medical stabilization or who are at risk of harming themselves. They’re also for complex clients needing medication adjustments, neuropsychological assessments, behavioral analysis, exposure work, and more. These are specialized programs, rather than just acute care placements. They focus on diagnosing and treating a wide range of disorders and behaviors such as Asperger’s syndrome, bipolar disorder, severe depression, psychosis, schizoaffective disorder, borderline personality disorder, trauma and others. Several will do an intensive multi- team assessment where our consultants will collaborate weekly (sometimes daily) with a treatment team of psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, social workers and behaviorists to plan the next phase of treatment. This level of sophisticated care is rare, and we travel to each center to get to know the teams offering these services to our clients.
